Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Places are allocated in line with Milton Keynes Council admissions criteria, taking into account the class size limits of 30 pupils per class for pupils age 5, 6 or 7 at Key Stage 1.

The criteria applies to admissions of children who are:

(a) starting school for the first time

(b) transferring at 6+

Milton Keynes Council will do everything possible to allocate a place at your preferred school. There is, however, no guarantee of a place at the school serving the area where you live.

Children moving into other Year Groups Parents of children who move into the area may apply for a place at the school by contacting Milton Keynes Council (Admissions 01908 253338). There may be vacancies in other Year Groups. If not, Milton Keynes Council will assist parents to find an alternative school in the area. If a place is offered to your child we provide a full induction programme to ensure your child settles in to St Mary’s Wavendon as soon as possible.

Induction for In-Year Admissions

If your child is offered a place at St Mary's during the academic year, we offer an induction process to help your child settle into the school. The process is as follows:

Day 1 - 9.00am to 10.00am

Tour of the school and talk with the Head Teacher.

This is for both parents and children

Day 2 - 9.00 to 10.30am

Children to attend for pastoral session

Day 3 - 9.00am - 10.00am

Children to attend to spend time with their new class

Start date will be on the following Tuesday.

Children Starting School in September 2024

We have 2 tours for children who are starting in Reception Class in September 24. If you would like to join one of them, please contact the office on 01908 582182 or admissions@stmaryswavendon.milton-keynes.sch.uk

The tours are on the following dates and times:

Thursday 19 October at 9.15am

Tuesday 21 November at 6.30pm

Please be aware that the tours are for parents only and we are unable to accommodate children or siblings.
