EYFS Curriculum 2023-2024

Hello and a big warm welcome to Reception Class.  

Information will be put on this page throughout the term, where you can find information about our class and curriculum. 

For many of you, this will be your first school experience, whilst others you may already have children here at our school. Please don't hesitate to contact us (admissions@stmaryswavendon.milton-keynes.sch.uk) if you have any questions or queries regarding your child's start with us. We are here to help and ensure that your child settles into school happily, quickly and easily. Our play-based and rich curriculum aims to create a fun learning experience for you and your children. 

Our NEW EYFS Curriculum

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. We use ‘I wonder’ questions for our topics to encourage curiosity and child-initiated learning where the importance of ‘Love, Learn and Grow’ shines through everything we do. 

Whilst using the EYFS statutory framework, we also use ‘Development Matters’ to guide our learning. Our EYFS Curriculum goals are what we would like the children to aspire to become and achieve by the end of their time with us. We provide a thorough and vast range of experiences where we actively encourage child initiated, purposeful learning to help inspire this.
